Shuffle

via Susan, via Tim, and so on, the shuffle blog-meme: here are the first ten songs that come up in iTunes (or your player of choice, if you have the uncontrollable monkeylike urge to imitate me) on shuffle. Mind you, I have been dumping everything I own or come across into iTunes ...

Mama's Always On Stage, Arrested Development
Ride On, Lulabox
Heatwave, Martha Reeves &The Vandellas
Cloud on My Tongue, Tori Amos
Mr. Peppermint Man, Dick Dale
Washed Away, Arrested Development
Rhythm of the Blues, Mary Chapin Carpenter
I Thought I Heard Buddy Bolden Day, Dr. John
Michael, Etti Ankri
Shir Labat (A Song For A Daughter), Etti Ankri

Funky. I will now listen to this mix.

i feel tempted to make some minor modifications and don't know whether i actually trust xmms' shuffling algorithms --> can't believe that lenny shows up twice and tori not at all ;-)

Yeah, I was pretty bemused that Arrested Development showed up twice -- Arrested Development? I haven't listened to them in years...

Ha ha, I got Tori! :-)

Weirdly, I'm so far behind the curve that I don't even have a playlist. I posted this on my blog, but here's my 1980s technology equivalent to your meme - the most recent 10 CDs in my car CD case.

Portishead - Dummy
David Bowie - Earthlings
Neil Young - Harvest Moon
AC/DC - PowerAge
Larry Frazier - Northern Light
Big Star - #1 Record/Radio City
O Brother Where Art Thou - soundtrack
Iggy Pop - Lust for Life
Portishead - Portishead
Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime

peace to y'all
